First seminar focusing on Information and Communication held in Goražde,14-15 March

As a part of Training program aiming on straightening the skills and knowledge of women’s representative in Commerce Trade Union of BIH , the first seminar was held in Goražde, 14-15 March 2008. The focus of the first seminar was on information and communication and how to improve it as tools for CTUBIH in the working place level. Seminar gathered 28 participants including 21 women participating in the projects.
The participants were offered with the basic information concerning the project itself as well as information about Handels, Sweden. The seminar was organized on “learning by doing” principle and participants trough several group tasks and exercise practiced their information and communication skills gained so far. The important part in this was presentation skills and how to transfer the information.
Representatives from Handels offered their experiences and practice in informing membership on the local level and by this gave the important input to the seminar.

According to the evaluation forms filled in by the participants the seminar was extremely beneficiary for the participants who benefited a lot from the number of workshops arranged. They also highly evaluated the organization of the first seminar. The full Project group's plan  is attached. 

PROJECT TASKS

The training program is structured so that after each seminar project groups design their own small projects to be implemented in their localities plan it and also implement it until the next seminar. In this process they will have the support from the mentors, FIET staff.
The first project task was information on the working place level. The 4 project groups designed their projects and structured it the following way:


GROUP 1 – Zenica
Project task: Information about STOP Violence campaign of CTUBIH
Target group: Workers of VELEPROMET Company Zenica
Venue: Meeting room WEST Zenica
The group planned to organize the meeting with the workers and inform them about the campaign conducted by CTUBIH during the March 2008. The planned period for implementation is May 2008.
GROUP 2 – MOSTAR
Project task: Designing and distributing flyers focusing on the importance of being organized in the union
Target group: Unorganized workers of KONZUM Company in West Herzegovina
Venue: Working places – different location
The group planned to produce the flyer where they will offer the information concerning the services and activities that CTUBIH offered to its members with aim to get them interested in CTUBIH.

GROUP 3 – TUZLA
Project task: Information about Women Worker’s Rights written in short as flyer
Target group: Three CTUBIH locals in Tuzla: KONZUM, FARMACIJA, And MERKATOR
Venue: working places (each group member transfers the information in her own locality)
The group planned to make an overview of the present rights granted to women by BH legislation and ILS and to put it in the form of flyer which they would then distributed in their own working places. The planned period is until September 2008.

GROUP 4 – PRIJEDOR/SANSKI MOST
Project task: Info material on Mobbing, how to recognize it and what to do
Target group: Workers of KONZUM,Prijedor and Sanski Most
Venue: KONZUM’s Stores in Prijedor and Sanski Most
The group planned to make a brochure on Mobbing, the symptoms, how to recognize it and what to do mainly due to the fact that are victims of mobbing for long time and by this they want to initiate the long lasting process of fighting the mobbing in their own working place. The planned period for implementation is May 2008.

GROUP 5 – SARAJEVO
Project task: information about CTUBIH – basic
Target group: ONIPROM, Company from Goražde
Venue: Meeting place of the company.
The group planned to arrange the meeting with the workers of this company in Goražde and to use the project to organize them. The group would prepare the material from the existing database of the union and arrange one hour meeting of CTUBIH presentation. The planned period is until September 2008.
